Kara Jenkins launches campaign to become Las Vegas’ next Mayor
By Gambling Insider

Since she refused to organise a public event (to protect the health of her supporters), she provided some insights about herself and her campaign.

Ms Jenkins commented: “Las Vegas is my home. It’s where I bought my first home. Where I enjoy the arts and entertainment. It’s where I brag about living when I travel. Vegas is where my best friends live. It’s where I hike, run and play.

"It’s where I serve. We are a community of creatives, entrepreneurs, veterans, athletes, performers, public servants, philanthropists and students. No matter where you’re from, if you call Vegas home – I will hear your voice and value your input to our community.”

Jenkins mentioned she would run an accessible campaign and promised to personally answer inquiries via social media for “as long as she can." This announcement was made after she spent several months building a team of professionals while listening to the needs of workers and business owners struggling with uncertainty caused by Covid.

She added: “Covid hasn’t just changed how I thought today would look. It changed our lives. As we begin the process of creating a new normal, I’ve been told over and over by the beautiful people of this city – where I call home – that we desire to do it all with the support of results-oriented leadership.”

According to Jenkins' 14 years of experience, the most effective way to make real and positive change is by engaging diverse opinions to solve problems. Her plan is to bring her own diverse background to the table and use her experience in leadership to lead the city in a recovery that works for everyone.
