By Peter Lynch

The company will become a top tier Official Club Partner with back of the shirt sponsor branding, digital non-fungible token (NFT) collectables, and a significant commercial investment into the Scottish football club.

SGO, an NFT augmented reality sports trading company, was founded by Australian father and son Ricky and Corey Jackson. It has formed sports partnerships with a number of athletes and clubs, including Premier League players Andy Robertson and Luke Shaw.

“This is another exciting commercial partnership for Rangers and one that aligns closely with our digital transformation strategy and ambitions in the emerging NFT space, which presents a compelling new revenue stream for the sports industry,” said Rangers Commercial and Marketing Director, James Bisgrove.

“We’re looking forward to working closely with the team at SGO to activate the partnership and ensure Rangers remains at the forefront of emerging opportunities in the Blockchain and NFT sectors.”

The partnership aims to provide further opportunities for fans to engage in digital collectable products and interactive gaming.

Sportemon Go CEO and former AFL player, Ricky Jackson, commented: “Our NFTs are unique, creative, with innovative exclusive features and products that I know the Rangers supporters will love. We are excited for the opportunity to build new products never-before-seen for the ultimate fan engagement, but also provide a solid partner contribution to Rangers FC through significant new and recurring revenue generation from SGO products.

“Our research and development technology that we have created over the past five years of extensive market research and development will be used in Rangers products, service and experiences which is backed by a further 30 years of sports industry success and know-how in end-to-end sports marketing, licensing, merchandise and digital iGaming offerings.”
