IGT releases 'Responsible Gaming Policy'
By Dominic Marius-Markham

With this move, IGT is looking to foster transparency and highlight its commitment to responsible gambling via worldwide programs and solutions, alongside demonstrating its compliance with requirements and regulations within every jurisdiction it operates.

“Responsible gaming is a cornerstone of all that we do at IGT, and an aspect of our business where we demonstrate leadership among gaming and lottery suppliers,” said Wendy Montgomery, IGT’s Senior VP of Global Brand, Marketing and Communications.

“In publishing IGT’s Responsible Gaming Policy, we demonstrate important transparency about the tenets of our commitments and the exemplary standard to which we hold our employees, products and partners.”

To tackle the problems gambling can present — and discover ways in which these problems can be prevented — IGT has organised topic-focused working groups through its new policy to explore emerging trends and best practices related to responsible gambling.

IGT added: “In today's unprecedented times, with an emphasis on the digital revolution and cashless innovation, IGT remains committed to responsible gaming by balancing growth with social responsibility.”

IGT’s RG policy is propped up by four pillars from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program: valuing and protecting people, advancing responsibility, supporting communities and fostering sustainable operations.

Oversight of the policy will be handled by a committee called the RG Advisory Group who will meet at least once a year to discuss the company’s efforts related to responsible gambling, as well as signing off on the overall RG strategy and annual review.

IGT currently holds certification to the Responsible Gaming Standards for Associate Members from the World Lottery Association, and responsible gaming standards certification from the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4) for gaming and digital operations.
