Google Ads no longer allows sports betting ads in Florida
By Gambling Insider

This update comes after the ruling from a Washington DC federal court that invalidated the Florida-Seminole Tribal Gaming Compact and made sports betting illegal in Florida.

Google said: "In November 2021, the Google Ads gambling and games policy United States country-specific will be updated to disallow sports betting in Florida."

Google supports responsible gambling and abides by local gambling laws and industry standards; therefore, it doesn’t allow “certain kinds of gambling-related advertising”.

All gambling ads have to follow the regulations of their own countries, must only target approved countries, must never target minors, and having a landing page that displays information about responsible gambling is mandatory. All local regulations for any particular area can be found on the support page.

Additionally, gambling cannot be promoted using Gmail ads, shopping ads, reservation display ads or consumer ratings annotations.

The ads or extensions that don’t follow Google’s policies may be subject to disapproval – a disapproved ad would not run until the policy violation is fixed and the ad is eligible.

The other way to deal with violated policies is the suspension of the account – an account may be suspended after several violations or after a serious violation.

Should this happen, all ads in the suspended account would stop running and Google would stop accepting advertising from the owner of the account. All related accounts would be permanently closed and any new ones would be automatically suspended at setup.
