EPIC Risk Management extends relationship with boxer Nathan Quarless
By Gambling Insider

This move comes as the consultancy firm looks to deepen its support of young, up-and-coming athletes, which includes the 26-year-old cruiserweight.

Undefeated and with eight wins under his belt, EPIC has sponsored Quarless for the past two years and watched the young boxer’s fledgling career flourish.

Through their relationship, EPIC is hoping to shine a light on gambling-related harms and addiction, using Quarless’ own experience to educate and inspire.

Paul Buck, EPIC’s Founder and CEO, said: “Nathan is a fantastic role model of recovery — a great advocate for positive recovery.

“We are delighted to extend our relationship with Nathan and can't wait to enjoy the journey with him as his professional career goes from strength to strength.”

Buck formed a personal relationship with Quarless after both spoke at an event organised by the Beacon Counselling Trust regarding gambling-related harms.

“About two years ago now, I was working with Beacon on the launch of the Gambling Harms North West Alliance. Paul was doing a speech, and I did one on my struggles and read a poem as well,” said Quarless.

“We didn’t end up networking on the day, but afterward, Paul got in touch with me through Twitter to tell me how much I’d inspired him and how he’d like to meet up. He ended up sponsoring me in boxing and we have become good friends from that day on.”

Quarless fights out of Tommy Smith’s pro stable within Old Swan ABC and is hoping to continue his success in his next bout against Steve Collins Jr on Friday 26 November.
