Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood reports record-breaking year for slots
By Gambling Insider

Over the 12-month period, the integrated resort and casino awarded more than $1.2bn in slot machine jackpots.

420,000 jackpots were paid out in total, with an average win of $3,000, while the highest slot jackpot paid in 2021 was $900,000.

The resort passed the $1bn mark in November, which it celebrated by awarding one player a surprise $100,000 grand prize.

Pro Football Hall of Famer and ex-Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor was on site to congratulate the winner. The resort also made a $100,000 donation to Taylor’s charity, the Jason Taylor Foundation.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, aptly nicknamed the Guitar Hotel owing to its tower that resembles a giant glass guitar, is a joint venture between Hard Rock International and the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

The resort’s casino offers nearly 3,000 slots, including video poker, video keno, electronic roulette and electronic craps. The casino includes a high-limit slots room with denominations ranging from 10 cents to $1,000, as well as a non-smoking slots room.

While 2021 may have been a record-breaking year for the resort’s slots business, it also saw the Seminole Tribe and Hard Rock launch a short-lived mobile sports betting venture.

The Hard Rock sportsbook app went live in November but stopped accepting wagers on 4 December after the US Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld a ruling that said the online sports betting venture was in violation of Federal law.
