Foxwoods posts $30.5m in slot revenue for December 2021
By Gambling Insider

Owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Foxwoods has deposited $4.4bn from slot revenues directly to the state’s budget fund since 1993. In December, strong revenues were driven by a variety of festive-themed promotions and giveaways, bringing high volumes of customers to the venue.

The casino hosted a ‘Holiday Swipe and Win’ giveaway, with the chance for guests to win $100,000 in cash, in addition to other prizes including concert tickets, trips and gift coupons when using their Foxwoods Rewards card.

The resort also increased demand through a month-long schedule of festive activities and initiatives. These included: ice skating, dining in a festive-inspired igloo, a Christmas wonderland-themed dining experience at the resort restaurant, and annual tree lighting with celebrity appearances from Ashanti and Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan.

To kick off 2022, Foxwoods hosted a series of music events, themed around rock, pop and Motown genres for guests on New Year’s Eve. January has seen a continuation of customer giveaways, this time promoting the group’s new casino opening in Puerto Rico. As part of the latest prize, one winner will claim a trip to Foxwoods El San Juan when it opens, as well as $5,000 cash.

The promotion, which runs between 3 to 20 January, encourages guests to swipe their Rewards card, which could give nine people the chance to win $1,000 cash.

In addition to contributing to the state’s budget fund, Foxwoods has also helped the local area battle Covid-19, converting its bingo hall into a vaccination clinic.
