Novomatic cancels participation in ICE London 2022
By Gambling Insider

The decision is due to the challenging situation created by Covid in the UK and across Europe, and it follows numerous other cancellations by international show exhibitors.

A statement issued by Novomatic read: “A multitude of adverse aspects – including the pandemic, logistical challenges and, last but not least, the unfavourable and unavoidable alternative date – has culminated in a situation in which participating in the show is no longer viable.

“The situation remains difficult to assess, due to the pandemic creating conditions that continue to prevent safe travel as well as a safe stay and participation at this gaming show – circumstances that have ultimately led to several cancellations by leading show exhibitors and participants.”

The supplier, which usually takes up a huge amount of floor space at the ExCel, added that the health of its employees, customers and partners is a top priority; therefore it deems withdrawal from the show, although unfortunate, as fully necessary.

According to Novomatic, the decision was not taken lightly, as ICE is a key trade show for the entire gaming industry; the organisation “hopes that the successful cooperation can be continued under more favourable conditions in 2023.”

Founded in 1980, Novomatic is a producer and operator of gaming technologies. The group operates around 214,000 gaming terminals and video lottery terminals in its more than 1,900 gaming operations, as well as via rental concepts.
