By Gambling Insider

Granted by the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming, Regulation and Oversight Division, the approval means the Grand Central can increase its number of betting ticket terminals and self-service wagering kiosks.

Michele Ciavarella, Executive Chairman of Elys Game Technology, commented: “Our partnership with Grand Central has been mutually successful and we are confident that the onboarding rate for our small business deployment will increase significantly through 2022.

“Elys’ growth in the small business sector is one part of our three-pronged approach to drive revenue and expand into the North American gaming market, which includes progress at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City and the ongoing development of the company’s US digital and mobile channel.”

Elys also recently announced its financial performance, covering December 2021 and full-year 2021 respectively.

The Grand Central took wagers of approximately $735,000 in December, earning net gaming revenue (NGR) of $92,000. For the full year, its handle totalled just over $1.4m, which translated to a little over $200,000 NGR.

On the results, Ciavarella said: “With our fast-moving US deployment, we have continued to prove our cutting-edge betting technology by performing well against recognised industry leaders, and with the strong belief that we will continue to have a better retention rate, we expect to gain a stronghold in the US marketplace.”
