WynnBet online sportsbook launches in New York
By Gambling Insider

The online sports betting and casino, which is now live across eight states, launched its WynnBet platform to bettors in New York.

Ian Williams, President, Wynn Interactive, commented: “WynnBet beginning operations in New York is a monumental step in the growth of our company. New York represents a significant population of our Wynn Rewards membership, and we are confident in our ability to compete in this market by providing the first-class service and gaming experiences synonymous with the Wynn Resorts brand.”

To entice potential customers to sign up, WynnBet has an introductory offer of a $200 free bet when $10 is wagered. Wynn Rewards offers customers discounts on hotel stays, priority access to events and restaurant bookings.

WynnBet will also offer its customers games and betting services popular in other states, such as Build Your Own Bet and The Playbook.

Alongside New York, Wynn Resorts’ online sportsbook is also live in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia.

In less than a month since New York opened its doors to online sports gambling, 1.2 million betting accounts have been opened. Caesars Interactive dominated the scene in terms of handle and revenue generated, accounting for 41% and 46% share of the market respectively.

FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, PointsBet and BetRivers make up the other operators with an online sportsbook currently live in New York.

Bally’s Corporation and Empire Resorts are awaiting regulatory approval.

However, despite entering New York, recent reports have linked Wynn Resorts with a potential sale of its sports betting business.
