BCLC launches search for new President and CEO
By Gambling Insider

While Lynda Cavanaugh will continue to serve as BCLC’s Interim boss for now, the Canadian Crown corporation has launched a search for an executive to permanently take over the position.

Leaders International, a headhunting firm based in Canada, will support BCLC’s search. On Leaders’ website, the job listing reads: “The role of CEO requires collaborative, transformative and strategic leadership capabilities which includes fostering a culture that embraces co-creation, experimentation and learning while delivering on strategic and business priorities.

“This includes embracing emerging leadership requirements and capabilities and moving beyond traditional leadership and management approaches to achieve the directions set by the Ministry and Board of BCLC.”

It adds: “The ideal CEO candidate should be a values-driven leader, skilled in developing and executing organisational strategies and associated operational plans.”

Whoever is eventually selected to lead the lottery corporation will be responsible for advancing the organisation’s focus on players’ wellbeing, while also generating revenue for the Province of British Columbia.

“We are excited to find our next President and CEO to build on BCLC’s successes to innovate our business in a way that serves the best interest of our players and communities,” said Greg Moore, BCLC Board Chair.

“Working collaboratively with BCLC’s Board of Directors and executive team, the successful candidate must be a values-driven leader who is passionate about social purpose and furthering an empowering, equitable and inclusive culture for our employees and industry.”

Leaders’ first resume review will take place on 17 March 2022.
