The gaming expo, now to be branded as G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore, is due to take place between 24 and 26 August 2022.  

It's an event that has seen numerous postponements over the past three years, since the trade show was last held in May 2019. In a pandemic-hit 2020 and 2021, the show was moved from May to June, and then to December 2020, before being cancelled completely. In 2021, it was then rescheduled for May, followed by August and finally November.  

By rearranging the location completely, marking the first time the conference has been held outside of Macau, the hope is that show exhibitors can attend as normal.  

While Macau’s travel policy is strict, with the entry requirements stating “all travellers arriving in Macao, who are not residents of Macao, Hong Kong, Taiwan or mainland China, will be denied entry,” Singapore’s is more relaxed. 

Foreign travellers need only present a copy of a negative PCR test to gain entry. 

The previous G2E Asia show was the largest in its 12-year history to that point, with over 200 exhibitors, including Caesars Entertainment and International Game Technology, along with 18,000 visitors. 

The gambling world is currently gearing up for ICE London 2022, which takes place between 12 and 14 April.  

Like G2E Asia, ICE’s organisers were forced to cancel last year’s show, as well as postpone the 2022 edition from February. Over 600 exhibitors are due to be in attendance, alongside 35,000 visitors.
