Rank Group and GamCare team up for expanded training programme
By Gambling Insider

Beginning later this month, more than 1,400 Rank employees will receive 150 days of training in regard to safer gambling and social responsibility.

GamCare’s intermediate-level Social Responsibility and Interaction course will be delivered as a one-day programme to 950 people across Rank’s various brands. This includes those working in the group’s land-based Grosvenor casinos and Mecca Bingo clubs, as well as its digital team and international employees.

Rank added that this course will be “tailored through relevant case studies for customer-facing colleagues to support them to identify and interact with customers.”

“I am delighted that our partnership with GamCare is now being rolled out at such a significant scale,” said John O’Reilly, Rank Group CEO.

“It underlines our relentless commitment to improving how we interact with customers to give them the safest and best experience when they are with us. Safer gambling is a strategic pillar of the Rank Group, and it requires investment, expertise and a deepening of all our knowledge.”

A further 500 Rank employees will receive GamCare’s equivalent advanced-level programme, to be delivered as a two-day course.

This new collaboration also builds on both parties’ existing relationship. Their prior work has seen employees from Rank’s Mecca Bingo brand – namely those working in its customer service, digital and land-based business units – undergo training for the past 18 months.

Anna Hemmings, GamCare CEO, commented: “We are pleased to be extending our partnership with Rank to deliver safer gambling training across all their brands.

“The investment in their people’s skills and knowledge around customer interaction responsibility should help to reduce the risk of gambling harm in their venues and online.”
