BetMGM brings gaming products to Carnival Corporation cruise ships
By Gambling Insider

The MGM resorts and Entain joint venture will deliver retail and mobile gaming to passengers on board any of the more than 50 ships in the corporation’s fleet ported in the US.

Over the coming months, BetMGM’s platform will roll out across the company’s various subsidiaries, including the corporation’s namesake, Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises.

“We’re very proud to be able to deliver the excitement and engagement of sports betting and iGaming to our guests through our partnership with BetMGM,” said Marty Goldman, Senior Vice President of Global Casino Operations for Carnival Corporation.

“Our two leading global hospitality organisations will provide a wide array of immersive digital content as a complement to our exceptional shipboard casinos.”

BetMGM-branded digital and cash-based sports betting, as well as real-money gaming products, will be available on board Carnival’s US-branded ships in international waters. Both companies will further collaborate on co-marketing and promotional activities.

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt commented: “We’ve found an ideal partner in Carnival Corporation and look forward to providing our sports betting and iGaming products to its millions of passengers.

“This is another great opportunity for us to further expand BetMGM’s footprint.”

Carnival, like most cruise ship operators, was severely impacted by Covid-19 and this latest partnership is likely an attempt to win back wary customers by expanding its offer.

For BetMGM, meanwhile, this deal expands its footprint, as touched on by Greenblatt, but also exposes BetMGM’s brand to new customers who may continue to use its services when they return home.
