By Gambling Insider

With previous senior sales executive positions at companies including Sportradar US and Genius Sports Media, Masterman brings over 10 years of industry experience to the role, where he will report directly to CEO Rob Phythian.

Masterman arrives at SharpLink from ShotTracker, where he served as VP of Sales and spearheaded the integration of sports data with clients including ESPN and CBS Sports.

Phythian said: “Tom was a key member of my executive team at SportsData and Sportradar US, so I am keenly aware and appreciative of the deep skill, industry relationships and business-building talent that he brings SharpLink.

“We are thrilled to have brought him on board and fully expect that he will have a marked impact on the future success of our company.”

Masterman served as CRO at Sportradar US from 2013 to 2017, after its acquisition of SportsData. During his time there he secured clients including Yahoo Sports, Sports Illustrated and DraftKings, while also obtaining data provider rights for the NFL, NBA, NHL and NASCAR.

Masterman said: “I am so excited to once again be working with Rob, who is a smart, inspirational leader and industry visionary.”

“Together, we accomplished great things at SportsData and Sportradar, so I’m looking forward to once again leveraging our complementary strengths to drive SharpLink’s growth and help to ensure we ultimately dominate the fast-emerging sports betting conversion market.”

In May 2022, SharpLink signed a partnership with Quintar, in a deal that will see the two companies combine sports betting with augmented reality to create immersive experiences inside the metaverse.
