SCCG Venture Fund invests in Ronin Sport
By Gambling Insider

Back in April, SCCG and Ronin, a sports data provider, entered into a strategic partnership to help grow the latter’s North American footprint.

Now, they have taken this partnership one step further. The SCCG Venture Fund, managed by Stephen Crystal, David Hanlon, Pierre Cadena and Dave Antony, targets gaming opportunities for seed and series A funding.

In particular, the Venture Fund specialises in companies involved in sports wagering, iGaming, esports gaming and wagering, sports data, affiliate solutions and venue management.

Ronin has now become a recipient of the Venture Fund, and will also benefit from SCCG’s help. In addition to making an investment, the consultancy will serve as a strategic partner, offering insights, business development and advisory services.

“SCCG will be a strategic business partner to Ronin Venture and help the company grow the business in the North American market,” said SCCG.

“SCCG will provide insights, business development and advisory services to grow the company within different North American sports market segments.”

Ronin got its start in January 2020 and offers live TV and streaming data for a range of sports spanning several countries.

The Venture Fund has also invested in two other companies this year, both in March. Play Caller Sports is a planned fan engagement platform that will offer both fantasy and traditional sports betting.

Bounty Sports, meanwhile, is a daily fantasy sports platform designed for “casual sports fans,” allowing them to compete against one another to win cash prizes.
