Sportech announces departure of CFO Nicola Rowlands
By Gambling Insider

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Nicola Rowlands has advised Sportech’s board of her intention to resign, effective from 30 September. This decision was prompted by her acceptance of a Deputy CFO role at marketing agency Dept.

Rowlands’ resignation will bring her tenure at Sportech to an end, a tenure that had spanned more than a decade. The businesswoman joined Sportech back in 2010 as Group Financial Controller, before becoming CFO in 2021.

Rowlands reflected on her time at the company, commenting: “I have been with Sportech for nearly twelve years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the company and am proud of what has been achieved by its management and employees.”

She added: “I am confident that Sportech will continue to deliver value for shareholders and customers alike and I wish the board and the team all the very best for the future.”

Her departure will leave Sportech in need of a new CFO. To this end, it is looking to appoint a replacement “in due course.”

Rowlands, meanwhile, will remain until Sportech publishes its interim results in September to ensure “an orderly transition.”

“We are grateful to Nicola for her dedication, professionalism and support to the group, specifically during the recent years when she played a pivotal role in the transactions and restructuring the business, resulting in the elimination of debt and returning significant capital to shareholders,” said Richard McGuire, Sportech’s Executive Chairman.

“She will leave here with our best wishes for her future career.”
