Epic Risk Management ready to help operators meet new Gambling Commission guidelines
By Gambling Insider

Starting on 12 September 2022, a total of 14 requirements will take effect and Epic has already updated its fully accredited Interaction Masterclass service, adapting since the changes were first announced in June.

The new guidelines focus on ways to identify harm, act to prevent it, and evaluate the gambling operator’s interactions, as well as the effectiveness of the entire process.

Dan Spencer, Director of Safer Gambling at Epic Risk Management, commented: “I’m glad to announce that our course has been updated to the new guidance and remains fully accredited. We’ve had some amazing success delivering this course over the last 18 months, showing an average increase in confidence and ability of 20% among those who have taken the course.

“The Gambling Commission has been more specific around interactions and this course covers not just compliance, but truly having effective and confident conversations with players at an early stage. Customer interactions should be part of daily business now across the industry and we can help make those interactions the very best they can be.”

Epic Risk Management is an independent gambling harm minimisation consultancy that has worked in 27 countries on programmes meant to reduce gambling harm. These programmes often involve providing various pieces of training to the gambling operators.

The consultancy company bases its training and courses on lived experience, which helps both individuals and organisations get a customisable service on gambling risks.
