The National Weather Service for Las Vegas issued a flood warning and a flood advisory notice, as torrential rain damaged properties and caused power cuts through the night on Thursday 11 August.

In footage shared across social media, water can be seen pouring through the ceiling at both Caesars Palace and Planet Hollywood, flooding blackjack tables, gaming floors, as well as Caesars’ indoor restaurant.

In another video, severe flooding can be seen in an indoor parking garage and at the Caesars Forum convention centre at Paradise, Nevada.

The Weather Service said on Twitter: “With 0.58 inches added to the tally yesterday, the monsoon season in Vegas has delivered 1.28 inches of rainfall so far! That makes this the wettest monsoon in 10 years. And we've still got a month and a half left to add to our total.”

The storm has also caused travel chaos, with departure delays at Harry Reid International airport averaging one hour 34 minutes, with arrival delays of over one hour.

Numerous roads in the city have come to a standstill, with some blocked by floodwater and others closed off by the police.

The news comes just two weeks after similar flooding caused extensive damage and disruption to several Strip and Downtown Vegas properties.

Videos shared on social media at the time showed flooding at Circa Resort & Casino, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace and Linq Hotel.
