Scientific Games and Colorado Lottery extend contract as part of growth plan
By Gambling Insider

The Lottery’s scratch game business will be part of the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership (SGEP) programme, which is currently used by seven of the top 10 performing instant game lotteries worldwide.

SGEP is driving nearly 40% better performance in instant game weekly per capita retail sales when compared to US lotteries without the programme.

Scientific Games has provided the Lottery’s scratch games for nearly four decades, with this new contract extension set to deliver instant game design and portfolio management services, as well as technology-driven analytics and insights, game manufacturing, advanced logistics, marketing, sales support and licensed brand services.

Colorado Lottery Director Tom Seaver said: “We are focused on responsibly growing our scratch game product category for the enjoyment of Colorado players and maximising our returns to good cause programmes in the state.

“This contract extension with Scientific Games will bring operational efficiencies to the Lottery and our retailers.”

Scientific Games has committed to provide in-state jobs to support the partnership, constructing a new office in Lakewood, Colorado.

Scientifc Games President of Americas and Global Instant Products John Schulz said: “This is an exciting opportunity for the Colorado Lottery and Scientific Games teams to expand our work together to entertain players, and benefit environmental and education programmes in the state.

“We look forward to taking our collaborative efforts to the next level through an SGEP partnership that includes our SCiQ technology.”

The deal will see SCiQ technology rolled out at select Colorado Lottery retailers, working to streamline scratch game operational and accounting procedures.
