Jamul Casino launches San Diego Poker Classic
By Gambling Insider

The property, owned and operated by the Jamul Indian Village, has introduced the San Diego Poker Classic (SDPC), the latest addition to its poker programming.

The new series’ first iteration will run over 11 days, ending on 28 August, and offer players over $150,000 in prize money. Jamul is hoping the SDPC will help to “solidify” its position among San Diego’s entertainment destinations.

It will feature 14 trophy events, including a $50,000 weekend opener alongside a ladies event next week. However, the highlight of Jamul’s new series will kick off on 23 August.

The SDPC Main Event will run until the series ends and offer a $100,000 guarantee. Players who wish to participate will have to pay a $600 buy-in, or take their chances at a satellite table. For $85, they will have a one-in-10 shot to earn a seat at the main event, or for $145, have a one-in-five chance.

The series is being presented in partnership with RunGood Events and is taking place in Jamul Casino’s Poker Room and JIVe Lounge. Interested players may register in person at Jamul Casino.

Future series will be held in the second month of each quarter, which in addition to August, includes November, February and May.

Jamul Casino’s Poker Manager, John Rochfort, wished the series’ participants luck, commenting: “We’re expecting about 600 players for this first San Diego Poker Classic, and we’ll continue with a multi-day series every November, February, May and August.

“Good luck to all of our aspiring winners.”
