GoodLuckMate launches Japanese betting site comparison platform
By Gambling Insider

GoodLuckMate said Japan’s betting market is becoming ever more crowded and increasingly competitive. To this end, it cited projections that wagering volume could reach $9bn in 2022.

As a result, GoodLuckMate has set its sights on Japan, and more specifically, local bettors. The platform has already begun to feature reviews written in Japanese, among other country-specific content.

The brand’s Japanese platform provides bookmaker reviews, free game guides and bonus offers, as well as free-to-play demo versions of slot titles.

Going forward, GoodLuckMate intends to add further betting websites and “special perks.” CEO Nerijus Grenda said a Japanese launch is “an important plan in our 2022 expansion strategy.”

He added: “In the coming weeks, we will feature more betting sites and offer additional special perks.”

GoodLuckMate already has platforms aimed at other national audiences, including Swedish and Austrian bettors.

But according to Grenda, Japan represents a unique opportunity. He said that betting is ingrained in Japanese culture, which is amplified by the country’s tech-savvy citizens.

“The Japanese betting market has gained strong momentum after the pandemic,” said Grenda. “Betting is a part of the Japanese culture.

“This culture, combined with a high technology literacy, positively contributes to the online betting industry.”

Grenda went on to say: “It is our priority that players make the right decisions while choosing betting sites.”

In 2018, Japan approved a bill for three casinos in the form of integrated resorts (IR).

MGM Resorts is developing one IR in Osaka, which the company’s President of Global Development, Ed Bowers, commented on last month.
