New Jersey Transit grants BetMGM naming rights for rail line
By Gambling Insider

As a result, the route between Meadowlands Station and Secaucus Junction has been renamed to the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line.

This agreement granting BetMGM naming rights is the first of its kind for NJT and will add “additional non-farebox revenue.”

New Jersey’s Democratic Governor Phil Murphy is committed to keeping fares “affordable,” which his administration hopes to achieve by “identifying new revenue streams.”

With this in mind, New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner and NJT Board Chair Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti said: “The Murphy Administration is committed to keeping fares stable for NJ Transit customers.

“Partnering with BetMGM is a step towards that commitment by identifying new revenue streams that help keep fares affordable.”

NJT and BetMGM will also embark on a “comprehensive, multi-year advertising programme” through Intersection, NJT’s advertising partner.

Print and digital ads will be present throughout the system, which alongside the renamed rail line, will offer what BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost called “unparalleled exposure.”

“BetMGM is thrilled to announce this groundbreaking partnership with NJ Transit,” he said.

“The creation of the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line generates unparalleled exposure to our leading iGaming brand, through station signage and rider volume – particularly on our favourite day of the week: gameday.

“New Jersey is our home and first market, and we see today’s announcement as an extension of our strong relationship with the state.”
