ExteNet Systems and MGM Resorts sign connectivity partnership
By Louis Thompsett

The partnership will give guests of MGM Resorts updated mobile connectivity through a new wireless infrastructure.

The new mobile network will support connectivity for more than 200,000 daily visitors – aiming to eliminate dead zones and increase reliable access to apps, maps and other mobile facilities.

ExteNet Systems CEO Rich Coyle said: "ExteNet is looking toward an aggressive deployment schedule for MGM properties as we embark on the largest neutral host project in the country.

"The addition of greater connectivity will further enhance MGM's offerings for guests and support upcoming plans and development with future-ready solutions."

The communications company hopes to enhance phone signals in challenging areas, something MGM Resorts believes will allow its customers to make reservations, travel, access keyless check-in and place food and drink orders more easily than before.

MGM Resorts International Executive Director of Enterprise Collaboration Jim Kimball added: "We're committed to elevating every guest experience as the world relies increasingly on mobile devices and applications.

"This was at the core of our decision to partner with ExteNet. They delight in the user experience – so our properties can reliably bring better service and enrichment to our guests."

ExteNet’s host communications service is expected to be deployed at 25 MGM Resorts properties, covering 54 million square feet and 43,000 guest rooms. The new communications system will be used by an expected 70 million guests annually.

MGM Resorts' new wireless network is set to be installed at all destinations between the autumns of 2022 and 2024.
