Per Jaldung to step down from Casino Cosmopol

Holding his position since 2008, Jaldung has overseen the opening of the operator’s casino in Stockholm, where Sweden’s Deputy Prime Minister performed the first spin on the roulette wheel.  

According to Jaldung’s statement, he has worked through of slew of incidents, including robberies and gunshots at the casino, reports of discrimination, penalty fees from gaming authorities, legal investigations and floods & fires on the gaming floor. 

However, Jaldung also notes more positive events, such as being granted Chairmanship of the European Casino Association, experiencing the University of Nevada-Las Vegas’ Executive Development Programme, acting as Chairman of the VLT projects and attending many awards and shows. 

Jaldung was the recipient of the Chief Executive of the Year Award at the Global Gaming Awards London in 2021, receiving recognition for his efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.  

The soon-to-be ex-CEO has also been a part of many union negotiations, gambling responsibility work and affordability initiatives. 

Jaldung said: “I have worked with so many incredibly talented and wonderful casino people, both with colleagues in our group and with others internationally. I have done my best for a very long time. But now it is time to hand over the helm to a new person who will continue the important work of developing of our casinos for the future. 

“I will continue to lead the business as usual and I will prepare for the shift in management. I will leave by the end of the year and then we will see what exciting challenges the future will bring.”
