BetMGM first to offer futures market for FedExCup
By Louis Thompsett

A season-long tournament, betting on the FedExCup now brings the sport of golf in line with betting trends for other major sports, including the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.

BetMGM’s FedExCup market will open between tour tournaments, with McIlroy +700 favourite to win a fourth title and become the first repeat champion ever.

It remains to be seen if other sportsbooks will follow suit and offer futures markets on the FedExCup as BetMGM has, but the operator’s success may prove to be the litmus test for other US operators interested in the market.

BetMGM Head of Partnerships Kyle Wachtel said: “Our partnership with the PGA Tour was founded with innovation in mind, and we’re proud to be among the first operators to offer futures markets for the FedExCup.

“Through BetMGM, golf fans can now add even more excitement to the race for the Tour Championship, where our favourite golfers will compete for the event's largest prize purse ever.”

Scott Warfield, VP of Gaming at the Tour Championship, added: “Expanding the portfolio of engagement options for sports bettors is a priority for the PGA Tour so we’re grateful partners like BetMGM continue to innovate and offer golf fans a unique betting experience.”

Recently, BetMGM launched its selection of National Hockey League-branded casino games.

The new games include roulette, baccarat, blackjack and Dream Catcher, a live money wheel game, which are all available to play in BetMGM’s New Jersey, Ontario, Pennsylvania and Michigan locations.
