London among top alternatives to Las Vegas suggested by British Gambler
By Gambling Insider

The Big Smoke is home to 53 registered casinos, more than double Sin City’s 23. Macau, meanwhile, boasts 41 casinos, placing it second on British Gambler’s list of “Less Vegas” destinations, by casino volume at least.

The website has mapped out nine alternatives to Las Vegas, which it ranked according to several standards: weather, online popularity and cost (for accommodation, travel and beer).

Unsurprisingly, the Big Smoke came eighth for weather, narrowly avoiding last place thanks to Amsterdam’s lower average temperature for September, though only by one degree.

Admittedly, this scale only works if you like things hot. London averaged 20°C for September, which is hardly freezing. By comparison, Singapore, which came first for weather, averaged 31°C, which may be too warm for some.

Accommodation cost likewise saw London lose out, as did the average price of beer, posting fifth and seventh respectively.

But by every other metric, the city came top, or close to it. London came second for monthly search volume and first for Instagram popularity.

The Big Smoke also came first for travel cost though this was weighted in the city’s favour as British Gambler calculated the price based on flights from Heathrow.

However, even this wasn’t enough to push London into first place overall. The cold weather and high costs saw London take home a bronze medal, losing out to Macau and Puerto Rico.
