Sportradar launches new live fielding data capture solution at Cricket World Cup
By Louis Thompsett

It will debut at the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia and is the latest release in the partnership between ICC and Sportradar.

The supplier says its new solution captures up to 80 data points per ball bowled and can do so at low latencies.

The data will feature on ICC’s fan-facing website and its mobile application. Sportradar’s data can also be provided via feeds to media outlets and broadcasters globally.

Sportradar’s proprietary tool also allows cricket boards around the world to access these analytics, as well as power their own match centres and assets.

Managing Director of Strategy and Sports Solutions at Sportradar, Sam Taylor, said: “We aim to create the world’s most intelligent cricket platform and the latest enhancements to our data capture tool are yet another step in this direction. We are committed to delivering innovation and technology to help grow the sport and are thrilled that these game-changing new features are being used for the first time at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

“The value of faster, deeper data to sport and its fans is well established, we are extending our pursuits to pinpoint the insights that have a meaningful impact on the game and thereby the knowledge, engagement and enjoyment of the audience. We look forward to sharing the outcomes and benefits with our cricket partners worldwide.”
