Codere Online undergoes board shake-up
By Louis Thompsett

Alejandro Rodino, who served on Codere’s board of directors since the consummation of the business combination between Codere and DDC on 30 November 2022, has resigned as company Director.

Codere has announced Borja Fernández as Rodino’s replacement on the board.

Rodino was one of four directors appointed by Codere who increased his responsibilities after becoming a Co-CEO of the group.

In a meeting of the board on 20 October, Codere acknowledged Rodino’s resignation as both a board member and non-voting observer of its audit committee.

It was after this meeting that Fernández was appointed as director, pending a formal naming by shareholders at Codere’s next general shareholder meeting.

Fernández brings over 17 years of experience as a director of multiple boards across different sectors, including private equity, structured finance, capital markets and experience as a corporate CFO.

He currently serves as Managing Partner for Ahorro Corporación Financiera in Madrid, where he leads private equity and corporate investment banking practices.

Fernández has a BA in Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has attended executive development programmes from the Insead and IE business school.

Codere says Rodino’s services at the company were a “valuable contribution” during the time he was there. The company went on to welcome Fernández as the latest director appointed to its board.

Codere Online launched in 2014 and is the online arm of casino operator Codere Group. As well as Spain, the company operates in Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Panama and Buenos Aires in Argentina.
