Scientific Games' Carla Schaefer joins board of NCPG
By Matthew Nicholson

The move makes her the only lottery executive to hold one of the 15 seats on the board, and she has personally been in charge of Scientific Games’ responsible gaming measures, including the Healthy Play initiative – which helps educate lottery players about the subject of problem gambling.

Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling, said of Schaefer’s new role: “The NCPG is thrilled that Carla Schaefer has joined our board of directors. She brings a wealth of knowledge about the lottery industry and corporate and social responsibility to our organisation for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

Meanwhile, Scientific Games Chief Legal Officer Dena Rosenzweig added: “We congratulate Carla on her appointment to the NCPG board of directors. Carla is a respected lottery professional with a passion to make a difference in responsible gaming. Scientific Games, our employees, lottery customers, and NCPG are fortunate to have her on our teams.”

In other news, Scientific Games revealed it had extended its agreement with the Idaho state lottery, which will see it continue to provide scratch games to players in the US state.

Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Executive Director, said of the extension: “We are excited to continue our success with game innovation together and look forward to working with Scientific Games to expand our Idaho Lottery Scratch Game offering and ultimately drive more funding for education in our state.”
