The new free-to-play game comes days ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has such national teams as Germany, Argentina and Spain featured – with most of them signing long-term deals that reach beyond the finale of the tournament.

The game will see fans be able to collect trading cards and take part in the Sorare: Global Cup 22 competition, in which players can put together a team of eight players and earn rewards throughout the international tournament.

Nicolas Julia, Co-founder and CEO of Sorare, said of the new game: “The Sorare: Global Cup ‘22 mirrors one of the biggest moments in sports; the most iconic, celebrated and watched international sports tournament on the planet which has played host to some of football’s most legendary matches, players and champions, not least England ‘66 and France ‘98 and ’18.

“At Sorare, we are building the next sports entertainment giant by giving fans new ways to enjoy the sports they love and connect with their favourite stars. Launching Sorare: Global Cup ‘22 is a big step in that mission. Our new game is a chance for all football fans to put their football knowledge to the test - and the winners will enjoy some truly once-in-a-lifetime prizes.”

The move comes after Sorare partnered with AC Milan to become its official NFT Fantasy Football game partner. On the deal with the Serie A side, Sorare Head of Business Development Michael Meltzer commented: "We’re building a gaming experience fueled by passion where fans can connect with football and a global community.
