Pennsylvania reports October revenue up 6% year-on-year

Sources of gaming recognised by Pennsylvania include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video game terminals.

Of all Pennsylvania’s casinos, Hollywood Casino at Penn National generated the most revenue – $68.7m of the state’s total. Revenue made at the Penn-operated casino was up 20% from October 2021. 

Interestingly, Hollywood Casino at Penn National saw a 23% drop in revenue from land-based sources, with the majority of its overall revenue generated online. 

Meanwhile, Hollywood Casino Morgantown posted the greatest year-on-year growth, up from $346,496 in revenue for October 2021 to $6.5m for October 2022.  

The greatest revenue fall came from Presque Isle Downs and Casino, dropping 16% from the $11.7m made in October 2021.  

And it was Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin with the lowest amount generated this October, taking just $1.8m for the month.  

Of all gaming types, revenue from sports wagering saw the greatest year-on-year growth, up 72% from October 2021 with $40.5m in total revenue.  

Revenue from iGaming tables also saw a marked rise, with $35.7m made this October compared to $29.3m last year. 

However, it was revenue from fantasy contests that saw the greatest decline, dropping 25% from the $3.7m generated in October 2021.  

Online poker revenue also declined, dropping by 13% from the $2.9m posted in October 2021.  

Furthermore, Pennsylvania’s casinos made $199m of its total GGR for October, an amount down 2% from the prior-year period.
