Boring: bet365 pays bettors back £6m after three World Cup draws
By Matthew Nicholson

Due to the operator’s Bore Draw Money Back Offer, which sees bettors get their money back if they bet on the result of a 0-0 game, bet365 has given back wagers made on those matches.

Steve Freeth commented: “We’ve enhanced our famous Bore Draw offer to include a few more markets as well as Bet Builders in this tournament, so many of our customers won’t be too disappointed that both games finished 0-0.

"One of our most popular Boosted Bet Builders was the Match Result – Denmark, over two Goals and Kasper Dolberg to score anytime, and although all three selections lost, we’ve ended up refunding thanks to this concession.

"It’s one of many offers we have running on the World Cup, and although we took a hammering on the corners, with 20 flag kicks being awarded, we can't really complain about the result with Denmark being well-backed."

In further World Cup betting news, a bettor in Australia lost a staggering AUS$160,000 after backing Argentina to beat Saudi Arabia.

The match ended up with the Saudis winning 2-1, causing one of the biggest-ever World Cup upsets in the process and leaving the betting community stunned that one of the favourites for the tournament had lost to a 500/1 outsider.

Australian operator Tab subsequently confirmed after the game that a bet of AU$160,000 had been made by an unnamed gambler on the game.
