BetDex's Exchange goes live on Solana
By Matthew Nicholson

The sports betting exchange has already begun accepting bets on the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will not be charging fees for wagers placed on any matches in 2022 to celebrate the launch.

Varun Sudhakar, CEO and Co-Founder of BetDex, commented on the exchange: "The Solana mainnet launch is an incredible milestone for BetDex and one our community has been patiently waiting for. We are excited for our users to have real stakes in the game, and we couldn't imagine a better time to do so than during the World Cup."

BetDex recently became the first fully licensed regulated sports betting exchange on blockchain, after it was approved under the Online Gambling Regulation Act in the Isle of Man. Now it accepts bets from countries in Africa, Asia, South America and Europe.

Sudhakar said at the time: "Today's news is an exciting step forward for the BetDex Exchange. With the licensing and regulatory approval, BetDex now boasts the first fully regulated sports betting platform in the web3 space, and we're excited to welcome bettors from approved regions.

“We're certain this is the start of growing our exchange and continuing the expansion of sports betting into the web3 landscape."

Meanwhile, Digital Isle of Man Head of eGaming Abby Kimber added: "It is a pleasure to welcome BetDex to the Island. We are excited to be at the forefront of technologies like blockchain while maintaining our reputation as a highly regulated jurisdiction that prides itself on player protection."
