The executive boasts over two decades of industry experience, particularly across Sweden and Finland.

And, speaking exclusively to Gambling Insider, Siltanen has spoken further about her aims in the new ECA role.

Praising the professionalism of the licensed casino sector, she acknowledged the constant change that is needed within the industry.

“I’ve had the privilege to follow ECA’s work closely for many years,” she told Gambling Insider upon taking the position.

“The licensed casino sector is operated very professionally, even though the changes in regulation and customer behavior are forcing operators to adapt continuously.”

The ECA is no stranger to difficult challenges, of course, given the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on the land-based casino industry in recent years.

Just this January, the ECA published details of the pandemic’s ongoing effects on casinos.

Naturally, those effects have lessened since – but even in early 2022, outgoing Chairman Per Jaldung was keen to stress that “closures, curbs and curfews” were disrupting the “normal flow” of ECA members.

According to Siltanen, the organisation’s importance to its members is even further underlined during any such times of strife.

She added: “During these challenging times ECA’s support for its members and our industry is crucial.

“To have the possibility to be part of it and to contribute to our industry’s future development is very motivating.”
