Paf and Color Line set sail
By Matthew Nicholson

The new long-term deal builds on a previous agreement between the two companies and will see Paf’s slot machines, entertainment games and physical gaming tables installed for customer use on Color Line’s routes between Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.

Thomas Gudbjerg, EVP of Commercial & Hotel Operation on board, said of the extended partnership: “Paf has been a good partner that has contributed to a positive development of our gaming operations.

“Together with Paf, we have succeeded in establishing a new level for gaming operations on board. We also appreciate Paf's strong position in terms of responsible gaming, which is important to us.”

Meanwhile, Lasse Danielsson, COO for Paf, added: “We have managed to reach revenues that are better than those we had before the pandemic. In order to continue that development, we will invest in further improvements of the gaming experience, new and slightly fewer gaming machines and redesigned gaming areas.”

In recent news, Paf set a blanket mandatory loss limit of €10,000 ($9,800) per year for young people between 18-24 across its sites.

Previously, the loss limit had been set at €20,000 for all online customers with the operator, the first international gaming company to introduce any kind of loss limit; however, now younger audiences are subject to safer restrictions.

Jenna Ekström, Responsible Gaming Manager for Paf, commented on the move: “We need to take a stronger grip and minimise the risks for our young customers. Therefore, this is a good measure that strengthens our take on responsible gaming.”
