CDP awards IGT a B for its carbon footprint

As part of an assessment of how individual businesses limit their carbon footprints, the CDP awarded IGT a higher score than the average – as well as an improvement on its 2021 score.

CDP’s process works by inviting businesses to share information about their efforts to reduce their carbon footprints, with a B score representing a company that ‘have addressed the environmental impacts of their business and ensure good environmental management.’

Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, said: "Over the years, IGT has made great strides to significantly increase our environmental efforts, understanding that it is our responsibility to develop action plans to reduce our carbon footprint.

“IGT's commitment to climate change extends to our customers and their sustainable operations. This assessment from CDP assures all stakeholders that we continue to advance the Company through our steadfast commitment to sustainability."

In other news, IGT reported revenue of $1.06bn for the third quarter of 2022, an 8% increase from the third quarter of 2021.

As noted by IGT, there were contributions from each segment, including over 30% growth in Global Gaming. The segment climbed 31% year-on-year to $379m.

Global Lottery declined 4% year-on-year to $626m, with Digital & Betting growing 27% year-on-year to $54m.

Operating income for Q3 2022 was $211m, with an operating income margin of 20%.

Adjusted EBITDA for the period amounted to $402m, reflecting robust Global Lottery profitability and a strong increase from Global Gaming.
