New Jersey report: PokerStars on top for April, steadily boosting i-poker market
By David Cook
rStars has taken a market lead in the New Jersey i-poker market, generating $1.2m in revenue for April, its first full month in the market.

Amaya launched its brand in the state in partnership with Resorts AC in March and PokerStars NJ made more than three times the revenue of second-placed Borgata Poker/NJ PartyPoker, which reported $745,800 revenue.

I-poker revenue overall was $2.59m, adding in the $664,200 made by WSOP.com/888, and was the highest to have been reported since the corresponding month in 2014.

To compare the market in its last full month before the entrance of PokerStars, February’s total was $1.99m, meaning that PokerStars has assisted in a 31% revenue increase for the market, falling in line with some predictions that a positive impact would be steady as opposed to rapid.

Borgata/BwinParty is still the market leader for overall i-gaming, producing $3.98m gaming win for the month, ahead of Resorts AC in second with $3.5m.

The total online gaming win for the state was $16.98m, breaking the record monthly total for the sixth consecutive month, surpassing March’s $15.5m.

Land-based casino win for the month was $198.05m, a 6% year-on-year upturn and the highest to have been reported since September ($218.1m).

Total gaming win for the month was $215.03m, up 8%, and the year-to-date gaming win total of $812.8m is a rise of 4%.
