Flutter reports £2.4bn in total revenue for Q1 2023

Q1 2023 showed an overall strong first quarter for Flutter, with increases in pretty much every area and every location. 

For the first quarter 2023, Flutter was up 54% year-on-year in total revenue to £2.4bn ($3bn), with revenue growth at constant currency of 46%. Of that total revenue, sports revenue increased by 61% and gaming revenue rose 44%.

This quarter also reflects that the amount of average monthly players has increased by 30% from 9.5 million to 12.3 million.

The US is leading with its high statistics of revenue being up by 92%, including sportsbook revenue growth of +147% .

There is also positive momentum in the UK & Ireland YoY (+17%) and good growth internationally (+6%), while performance in Australia (-4%) saw a dip in revenue.

The UK & Ireland has seen increases in every area with revenue increasing by 17%, and average monthly players increasing by 11% showing a small but steady customer growth in the UK during Q1 2023.

Peter Jackson, Chief Executive, commented: “The group delivered a very strong Q1 performance with pro forma revenue growth of 29% achieved through continued execution against the group’s strategic priorities.”

He continued: “In the UK, the publication of the White Paper has vindicated the proactive actions we have taken to further embed safer gambling across our organisation through our Play Well strategy.

"The changes will bring consistency to safer gambling protections for customers and make responsible play a priority across all operators, which we strongly support.”
