Paf renews agreement with shipping company Eckerö Linjen
By Lucy Wynne

Finnish operator Paf has renewed its contract with Finnish shipping company Eckerö Linjen, in a multi-year agreement.

Eckerö Linjen and Paf have had a long-term business relationship; with Paf providing gaming entertainment for passenger ship MS Eckerö, which operates daily between Berghamn harbour in Eckerö in the Åland Islands and Grisslehamn in Sweden.

Eckerö Linjen began sailing between Eckerö in Åland and Grisslehamn in Sweden in 1961.

This new partnership will give Eckerö Linjen a completely new and refurbished on-board gaming experience. The current agreement between Paf and Eckerö Linjen ran until the end of 2023, but to develop better long-term business opportunities, it was decided to extend the agreement well in advance. The agreement will extend from 2024 onwards.

Paf's CEO Christer Fahlstedt said: "We have a solid history together with Eckerö Linjen and we look forward to the coming years together. The shipping company is an important partner for Paf and together we have managed to deliver good gaming entertainment on board.”

Tomas Karlsson, CEO of Eckerö Linjen, commented: "We have had good cooperation with Paf throughout the years. We both have high ambitions and we both know what it takes to adapt our operations to the conditions that exist in an onboard world.”

Paf's COO Lasse Danielsson also commented: "It is good for both of us that we can already extend our cooperation agreement. It usually takes a relatively long time to acquire new gaming machines and implement the software required for them to be used onboard a specific route.”
