1x2 Network gains Swedish B2B gaming licence
By Matthew Nicholson

The 1x2 Network has received a Swedish B2B gaming licence from the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA).

The UK-based iGaming content and software developer already has licences in the UK, Romania, Greece, Malta and Ontario.

The company aims to drive expansion across the board, something highlighted by its CEO, Kevin Reid, who said: “We’re thrilled to obtain the relevant approvals for our organisation in such a respected iGaming jurisdiction.

“Now that we’ve received the licence, we will continue in our quest to become one of the most widely distributed suppliers in regulated iGaming markets, by driving our expansion in Sweden and securing partnerships with the market’s top-tier operators.”

Meanwhile, Hacksaw Gaming also recently received a B2B gaming licence.

Marcus Cordes, CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, said: “Acting fast has given us a head-start on the competition.

“We are delighted to be among the first providers to obtain a full Swedish B2B gaming license, allowing us to build from a position of strength in the fast-growing market.”

Furthermore, the SGA revealed it had promoted extra measures to monitor providers anonymously. As part of the new measures, it will now be able to gamble under a hidden identity to supervise gambling companies on a larger scale.

The decision to amend the Gaming Act comes from the need to create a healthier and safer gaming market in Sweden.

In connection with investigating gambling-related crimes, gambling companies will also have an obligation to disclose information to the police.
