By Gambling Insider

It’s day one of G2E Asia 2023 Special Edition: Singapore. More than 100 international suppliers from 30 countries and thousands of visitors, including the Gambling Insider team, will convene at the Marina Bay Sands from today, 30 May, to Thursday 1 June.

“The enthusiastic response from our exhibitors reflects the industry’s needs and the importance to meet face-to-face to strengthen the relationships with one another,” said Yip Je Choong, SVP, Commercial, APAC, RX.

“At a trade show like this, besides the chance to showcase their innovative products, the exhibitors and visitors have plenty of networking opportunities to expand their business contacts,” he added.

The event began with a keynote address by Bill Miller, the President and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA). Topics he discussed include the latest developments in the gaming industry across Asia, such as Japan approving MGM Resorts and Orix’s IR project in Osaka, and Thailand making steps towards legalising casinos.

Miller also discussed the threats of illegal gambling, the importance of responsible leadership and of course the lessons the APAC industry can learn from the USA.

Following Miller’s keynote, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony that involved the traditional lion dance.

G2E Asia 2023 Special Edition: Singapore will feature a three-day conference under the theme “The Future Gaming Landscape in Asia.”

Emerging markets, esports, and optimising customer experience are some of the topics which will be covered by industry executives and experts over the course of the three days.

Notable speakers include Hakan Dagtas, COO of Newport World Resorts; Angela Han Lee, Senior analyst for APAC Gaming & Leisure at Bloomberg Intelligence; Praveen Choudhary, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd, Udorn Olsson, Advisor to Thailand’s House Committee on caisno gaming, and more.

After Singapore, G2E Asia is heading to Macau for the Asian IR Expo, which will be held from 11 to 13 July 2023 at The Venetian Macao. The Macau event will provide a special focus on integrated resorts, extending beyond gaming and will be an invaluable platform to drive business diversification and get expert insights on Macau’s latest economic development.
