IGT and Svenska Spel extend deal
By Matthew Nicholson

IGT has signed a three-year extension with Svenska Spel, which will see the former continue to provide its lottery technology and services.

The new deal is valid until January 2027, with IGT’s more than 4,000 video lottery terminals remaining a part of the partnership – alongside IGT’s IGTPay cashless payments system.

Ola Enquist, Business Area Manager Casino Cosmopol & Vegas at Svenska Spel AB, said: "Given the critical role that IGT has played in Svenska Spel's continued growth and modernisation, we are pleased to guarantee our partnership for an additional three years.

“IGT provides the ideal content, technology and services that enable Svenska Spel to responsibly grow our enterprise and engage our guests with next-generation experiences and future-forward innovation."

Meanwhile, Mark MacCombie, IGT’s SVP of EMEA Gaming, added: "IGT and Svenska Spel have a proven approach for serving the Swedish market, and we look forward to building upon that foundation and helping Svenska Spel achieve its growth targets for three additional years.

“Svenska Spel's focus on superior player experiences and their willingness to adopt new technologies complement IGT's leadership in innovation. This is evidenced by more than a decade of shared success and deployments such as Svenska Spel's IGTPay-powered cashless solution."

The news comes shortly after IGT agreed a decade-long agreement with the National Lottery in Malta.

The 10-year contract is valid until 2032, with IGT helping establish a new lottery scheme for Malta, including the reintroduction of instant tickets to players.
