Pixbet clears the first stage of Accreditation for Sports Betting in Brazil
By Gambling Insider

Pixbet, with WeAreGame as its platform provider, has been approved by Loterj as it continues to move towards full Accreditation for Sports Betting in the country of Brazil.

Loterj is the Permanent Bidding Committee of the Lottery of the State of Rio de Janeiro, which is responsible for authorising sports betting services.

At the end of April, Pixbet sent a Notice of Accreditation to Loterj, with special recognition for the fact that it already supports more than 15 brands and clubs across the country, including Clube de Regatas do Flamengo in Série A.

To get approval, Pixbet will have to undergo a strict process, in which several factors are examined before they can receive full accreditation.

Pixbet will have to prove that it operates under all technical and legal requirements of the law, including social responsibility, promoting safe play, as well as combating fraud, money laundering and financing terrorism.

The platform provider, WeAreGame, is behind the WeArePlatform service which upholds a number of Pixbetservices.

These include PixBet Fantasy 5, a fantasy football game, PixBet.tv, its streaming and video product, and PixJogos, the Free-to-Play site.

As well as being responsible for the administration, management and supervision of gambling in all municipalities of Brazil, Loterk has also allocated funds from projects and donations to over 300 institutions across Rio de Janeiro.

The first sports betting company to be officially licensed by Loterj was Loto Carioca, which has since launched its sports betting product, Rede Loto.

Rede Loto was granted its five-year licence to operate at the start of June, both online and in land-based retail outlets, and has since launched in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
