Resorts has launched a new mobile gaming platform, accessible through the WiFi system at nine of its properties in Las Vegas.

The casino operator has partnered with mobile gaming technology company oneLIVE inc in the launch of its new mobile gaming platform, easyPLAY Mobile Tournaments, described in a company press release as “the first digital and interactive tournament to be offered by a regulated casino in the United States”.

The new platform will offer guests the opportunity to play against one another for cash prizes in regularly scheduled casino contests, at locations including The Mirage, Bellagio and Mandalay Bay.

Players are able to play for points across these MGM properties, and can cash out at any of the nine locations where the platform is offered.

Executive Director of Interactive Gaming Development at MGM Resorts, Lovell Walker, said: “This is MGM's answer to addressing the next generation of players, the millennials.”

Two million email sign-ups were sent out to MGM’s entire player database for a summer-long grand prize tournament, with thousands signing up straight away.

Tom Mikulich, Senior Vice President of Business Development for MGM Resorts, said: “The introduction of easyPLAY Mobile Tournaments at our MGM Resorts properties gives our guests an exciting, new opportunity to play their favourite games while enjoying the best Las Vegas has to offer.

“The tournaments are extremely user-friendly, provide players with a variety of game options including slots and bingo, among others, and bring an element of competition that our guests will enjoy whether they are sitting at a bar enjoying a drink or simply hanging out by the pool.”
