Flutter UKI joins forces with ITV for 2024 horseracing docuseries
By Gambling Insider

Flutter UKI, the UK & Ireland division of Flutter Entertainment, has unveiled its collaboration with ITV and various industry stakeholders to present a six-part documentary series focused on British horseracing in 2024.

The upcoming documentary series aims to offer viewers an inside look into the 2023-24 jumps season.

Production will start in December and the programme aims to showcase the narratives surrounding the lives of both human and horse personalities.

Furthermore, welfare standards applied to racehorses and jockeys will be spotlighted in the series.

The series will be produced by South Shore, an independent production company supported by ITV, Flutter and the Racecourse Media Group (RMG).

The initiative is designed to be a collective effort involving various stakeholders. Already, organisations such as the Professional Jockeys Association and the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) have lent support to the project.

Flutter's participation in this project falls under the 'Do More' pillar of its global Positive Impact Plan. This pillar centres on giving back to the communities in which Flutter operates, with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of 10 million people by 2030.

Filming for the documentary series is scheduled to commence in December, with the transmission expected in late summer 2024.

Flutter UKI CEO Ian Brown expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, describing it as a long-promoted idea that will now bring the inner story of horseracing to a broader audience through a prime-time slot on ITV1.

In October 2021, ITV launched a 10-part sporting documentary series,  'Against The Odds,' which highlighted the triumphs of individuals who have overcome adversity in sports. This series was funded by Coral and featured significant moments from various major sporting events.
