By Gambling Insider

Sky Racing World will show live broadcasts of the Meydan Racecourse in North America.

The coverage will start from 12 January 2024 and cover the entire Meydan racing calendar.

This includes the Super Saturday race on 2 March and the Dubai World Cup later that month, starting on 30 March.

Alongside this coverage, Sky Racing World will continue to show horseracing events from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

David Haslett, Sky Racing World CEO and President, said: "We are excited to bring the magic of Meydan Racecourse to North American viewers.

"The Dubai World Cup is a highlight in the global racing calendar, and we are proud to offer horse racing enthusiasts across North America an exclusive front-row seat to witness this prestigious event and all the exciting races at Meydan."

The Dubai World Cup was founded in 1996 and has been held annually on the last Saturday in March ever since.

The race carries a purse of $12m, making it come of the world's richest horse races.

This year, the Breeders’ Cup Classic champion White Abbario is heading to Dubai to take on the defending champion, Japanese racehorse Ushba Tesoro.

Despite it being the horse’s first time abroad, Ushba Tesoro came from being the pack in the 2023 Dubai World Cup to become the first Japanese horse to win the race since Victoire Pisa in 2011.

Sky Racing World, a subsidiary of Tabcorp, currently has live racing rights from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, Japan (NAR), Malaysia and Argentina.

The company then broadcasts these races across America and the Caribbean.

Earlier this year, Sky Racing World added Hipodromo Chile racing to its portfolio.
