Betty secures $5m funding boost
By Gambling Insider

Betty, the female-focused online casino, has successfully secured $5m in pre-Series A funding. Prior to this, Betty had previously raised $7m, further showcasing its growing appeal in the online casino sector.

The company aims to harness the gaming enthusiasm of the female audience to carve out a niche in the market. With this in mind, Betty makes efforts to finetune its games and experiences towards female players, an effort that has resulted in the company retaining female customers at a rate three times higher than their male-centric counterparts.

Salim Mitha, Managing Partner at Powerhouse Capital and former EVP at Playtika, commented: “Betty has successfully implemented best practices from the most successful mobile gaming franchises into the real money iCasino market. We have seen firsthand how these strategies can supercharge user growth and revenues.”

Licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), Betty has attempted to make strides in the largest Canadian province since its launch in February 2023. The company believes the newly acquired $5m will be instrumental in furthering Betty's expansion efforts, enhancing live operations capabilities and upgrading its proprietary platform from Midnight 1 to Midnight 2.

Robin Reed, Managing Partner at HappyHour, also commented: “Betty has a clear vision and plan to differentiate themselves in the market by prioritising female online slot players and by building an in-house platform.

"It’s a privilege to support their growth, both in terms of capital and product expertise, and we look forward to continuing on this exciting path together.”
