PrizePicks launches peer-to-peer PrizePicks Arena
By Ciaran McLoughlin

Daily fantasy sports operator PrizePicks, based in North America, has launched a new game called PrizePicks Arena.

The new peer-to-peer fantasy sports game builds on its existing game and extends the experience within the PrizePicks community.

The basis of the game sees users compete for guaranteed prizes by being placed in groups based on their number of entries, selected entry fee and experience level on the PrizePicks platform. The highest-scoring entry within a particular group has the opportunity to win prizes.

PrizePicks Arena will initially debut in the states of Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming, with other states due to have the game within their regions soon.

The debut in Tennesse in fact comes after the daily fantasy sports operator secured a newly awarded Fantasy Sports License in the Volunteer State.

Back in November, PrizePicks launched a free-to-play version of its signature game, as it continues to increase its offerings.

PrizePicks’ VP of Innovation, Brian Huss, said: “We’re focused on expanding PrizePicks' reach by creating new, innovative game types that push the PrizePicks brand and truly put sports fans at the center of gameplay.

“PrizePicks Arena is an exciting new twist on the PrizePicks experience that paves the way for future product innovations.”

This week has also seen PrizePicks partner with Xpoint to integrate new geolocation technology into its operations.

This technology, which is designed to counter online gaming fraud, can extract the location of users and provide localised experiences that comply with state and federal regulations.
