BGC AGM: 'Let's shape changes to our industry... not just accept them'
By Gambling Insider

In his last AGM address before becoming the Betting & Gaming Council (BGC) Chair, Michael Dugher spoke of "continuing to deliver change" at One Great George Street.

The current CEO, who will soon succeed the outgoing Brigid Simmonds as Chair, told the audience that, understandably, we are facing the "biggest changes to our industry for a generation."

With Gambling Insider in attendance, Dugher spoke of the need to "stand up for our industry" following the publication of the White Paper, new online slot limits and discussions about potential financial risk checks.

Dugher wants the industry to "shape change and not just adapt to it." Indeed, the BGC CEO is "proud of the industry" and will "continue to fight for it."

Concluding with a thank you to current Chair Simmonds, Dugher said the BGC is the "best trade body in the country."

He then set the stage for various politicians, along with the Gambling Commission CEO Andrew Rhodes, to address the AGM.

Gambling Insider will be speaking to both Dugher and Rhodes for exclusive interviews.
